I know a lot of people think it can be kind of goofy, but you have to have fun with it. In the grand scheme of things for Xanth, Bink may be the most important person in the history of Xanth, but Bink does not know his importance, and only one other person understands just how important Bink may be. I will admit in some of the later ones, the puns start piling up too fast. Piers seems to have written this book as if he were convinced it took place on Earth. But the Good Magician Humfrey was convinced that Bink did indeed have magic. Worse still, if he doesn't discover his own magical talent soon, he will be forever banished from his homeland.
I started reading this series when I was younger and I'm now doing a reread of it since I've fallen behind on them. It's filled with outrageous puns and jokes, and the author never stays in a serious mood for very long before reverting to a humorour scene. Unfortunately, no one could determine its form. The group leaves Castle Roogna on their way to the see the King but are eventually forced to break their truce when Bink refuses to join Trent in taking over Xanth. He was sure he possessed no magic, and knew that if he didn't find some soon, he would be exiled. Pros: -The lore is rich and enthralling. He then gave me his blessing and contact info to his agent.

Very smart and amazing writing the story just glows and pics you up. The whole series is very punny and clever. When it had magicians with interesting talents that one could base an entire story on the ramifications of them, it was a good series. Anthony's other books have been put to audio, none of his Xanth ones have at least not through Audible.

Who else would love to hear this wonderful punny world brought to life, and it's characters given a voice? Anthony, if you're out there I implore you to consider having this done. When we can put ourselves into the story, we want to find out what happens to us, quite naturally. Not everything has to be 'Game of Thrones'. I'm sure you can guess how everything is resolved, but it is a fun, pun-filled romp all the way to the end.
I think I've read about half of the Xanth series, and it is apparent that the novels are becoming less and less serious. He believes that Bink can help him get into Xanth by providing information on the location of the source of the magical barrier, and attempts to coerce Bink into giving him this information. Anthony teases that all of the magical creatures in Earth's legends actually were real dragons, centaur, harpy, sphinx, etc , but they came from Xanth by mistake. Here, Bink learns that Fanchon, Wynne, and Dee are all the same person named. Yes, there is a romance in virtually every Xanth book, but still, the sexual inuendos don't fit; they're out of context. Meanwhile, Bink was in despair.
It's a disservice to novel lovers everywhere. He finds out from Good Magician Humfrey that he has Magician-caliber magic but that it can't be identified. I was prepared to be bored out of my mind, but for once my dad was right. Pierce anthony has been my fav author since being a teen. We also encourage discussion about developments in the book world and we have a flair system.
Xanth is shaped like Florida, but is not actually connected to the United States. It is worth your time to pick up this book and follow our heros' adventure.
