The only issue is that the person who leaked the story is deeply imbedded in the U. The plot of King and Maxwell is gripping and kept me turning the page. When Becker takes a mysterious job, he has no idea that it will force him to delve deeply into his own past. They are simply unnecessary and take away from the story. The problem is that Baldacci is too good a writer for this over the top commercialism. It was interesting how those interactions went. Trust him to take you to the action.

I did not feel at any point when reading this book that these characters were just stereotypes, they all seemed to have more going on. Yes, there were a few references made but it did not interfere with this story at all. I find it hard to beat up too much on Baldacci given the overall fun I had with this book. Each lock was rated to be tamper-proof. They are smart, resourceful, athletic and attractive, but not without flaws.
